This week, Best of Spokane looks at Spokane restaurants!  Spokane’s food culture has been featured  in the LA Times (in this article), it’s hosted as an annual week-long event during Inlander Restaurant Week, and it’s celebrated amidst internationally acclaimed musicians during our annual Pig Out in the Park.

As lifelong Spokane residents, and transplants from other areas, our staff and teachers offer advice about the best places to dine out in Spokane.  Among the top picks are Durkin’s, The Flying Goat, Mizuna and Churchill’s.

Durkin’s offers such tasty treats as confit duck leg, beef tartare, ox tail and craft cocktails, situated in an environment focused on the Americana style.

The Flying Goat is described as appearing to be the type of pub one would expect to find on the streets of England, Ireland or Scotland.  It features Neapolitan Style pizza, sandwiches named for Spokane neighborhoods, delicious appetizers, and a carefully chosen selection of fine beers.

Mizuna is said to nourish both body and spirit.  It features local and organic produce, many vegetarian options and fine spirits.  It opened in 1996 and has been one of Spokane’s top fine-dining spots for years.

Finally, many Americans love their steak.  Churchill’s steakhouse prides itself on its Chicago-style steakhouse atmosphere and is described as “the most exciting and elegant restaurant in the entire Northwest.”  Take a virtual tour by clicking here, and be sure to sink your teeth into one of their acclaimed steak and seafood dishes when you study in Spokane.

Spokane offers excellent food choices from the USA, as well as around the world.  Our restaurants feature modern and classical atmospheres while offering something to please everybody.  Our teachers and students all speak well of the choices and quality of food this beautiful city has to offer.  When you come to study at the Spokane College of English Language, don’t miss out on this important aspect of our culture.
